📅 Your Week at a Glance
May is knocking on the door, and Naples is going out strong. This week runs from a benefit concert on Bayshore Drive Thursday night all the way through a youth musical opening on 5th Avenue Wednesday — with a world-class pianist, free live music, a nature reserve throwdown, and a 24-hour flash sale somewhere in between. Here's everything worth putting on your calendar.
🎸 Thursday, April 30 — Rockin' Bash 2
Rockin' Bash 2 — Legal Aid Benefit Concert 📍 The Maddox, 2955 Bayshore Drive, Naples 🕡 6:30 PM | 🎟 $200/person
Kick the week off with a cause worth showing up for. The second annual Rockin' Bash brings an evening of live music, community, and purpose to The Maddox — a members-only club on Bayshore Drive that opens its doors for this night. The Mark Telesca Band headlines with a live performance, and the evening includes an interactive dinner, two complimentary drink tickets, and a cash bar. Every dollar of net proceeds goes directly to Legal Aid Service of Collier County, which provides free civil legal services to vulnerable residents who otherwise couldn't afford representation. Tickets are $200 per person — a fair price for the cause and the caliber of the night.

🎵 Saturday, May 2 — The Biggest Day of the Week
🌿 Rookery Bay Community Day 📍 Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, 300 Tower Road, Naples 🕘 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM | 🎟 Free
This one doesn't get enough attention. Rookery Bay — one of the last undisturbed mangrove estuaries on the Gulf coast of North America — throws open its gates for a free community day that is genuinely worth the trip. Kayak and paddleboard demos, face painting, photo booths, live music, science and nature activities, and hands-on touch tanks full of marine life including sea stars, shrimp, and tiny crabs that live in the estuary waters. There's also an art exhibit by Paul Arsenault and nature book signings by authors Bob Gonzales and Susan Levine. For those who want to go deeper, Friends of Rookery Bay is offering 30-minute eco-boat tours for $20 per person with pre-registration at rookerybay.org. A legitimate, immersive Saturday morning that doesn't cost a thing to walk in the door.
🛍️ Third Street South Farmers Market 📍 Third Street South, downtown Naples 🕖 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM | 🎟 Free
Naples' most consistent weekly tradition runs Saturday morning on Third Street. Fresh produce, baked goods, local vendors, strong coffee, and the kind of unhurried morning energy that reminds you why people move to Naples in the first place. Hit this first, then head to Rookery Bay — or stick around downtown and browse before the heat sets in.
🎶 Sounds on Strada — Wendell Ray 📍 Mercato Piazza, 9110 Strada Place, North Naples 🕕 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM | 🎟 Free
Mercato's weekly live music series rolls on Saturday evening with Wendell Ray performing in the Piazza. Lawn chairs welcome, no outside coolers. Grab dinner at one of the surrounding restaurants and let the evening unfold around the music. One of the easiest, most reliable ways to do a Saturday night in Naples during the spring season — free, outdoors, and consistently good.
🎭 Naples Players: "A Piece of My Heart" — Final Weekend 📍 Sugden Community Theatre, 701 5th Avenue South, Naples 🕖 Evening performance | 🎟 Tickets at naplesplayers.org
The Naples Players' moving production about women who served during the Vietnam War is in its final weekend of performances. If you've been meaning to catch it, this is your last window. The show closes Sunday.
🎹 Sunday, May 3 — A Night for the Books
Mahler Chamber Orchestra featuring Yuja Wang — Artis–Naples 📍 Hayes Hall, Artis–Naples, 5833 Pelican Bay Blvd 🕖 7:00 PM (doors open 60 minutes prior) | 🎟 From $169 at artisnaples.org
This is the event of the week — arguably the event of the month. Yuja Wang is one of the most electrifying classical pianists alive, and she comes to Hayes Hall not just as a soloist but as the director of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra — performing from the keyboard and conducting simultaneously. The program is masterfully constructed: Prokofiev's Symphony No. 1 opens, followed by Tsfasman's rarely-heard Jazz Suite for Piano and Orchestra, and then Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1 closes the evening with the full weight of Wang's virtuosity. Every ticket includes same-day admission to The Baker Museum, which holds special extended hours from Noon to 7 PM specifically for the occasion. Arrive early, walk the museum, grab something light at Heidi's Place before the concert. This is the kind of night that reminds Naples residents why this community punches so far above its weight culturally.
🍽️ Tuesday, May 5 — Two Worth Knowing About
Greater Naples Chamber Tourism Week Celebration Lunch 📍 The Ritz-Carlton Naples Tiburon, 2600 Tiburon Drive, North Naples 🕙 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM | 🎟 Industry tickets required
The Greater Naples Chamber, Naples Marco Island Everglades CVB, Visit Florida, and hospitality partners gather at the Ritz-Carlton Tiburon for the annual Tourism Week Celebration Lunch — a networking and recognition event for the professionals who power Southwest Florida's visitor economy. If you work in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, or real estate, this is a room worth being in.
💃 Miami City Ballet with the Naples Philharmonic — Artis–Naples 📍 Hayes Hall, Artis–Naples, 5833 Pelican Bay Blvd 🕖 7:30 PM (Prelude at 6:30 PM) | 🎟 From $166 at artisnaples.org
One of the final performances of the Artis–Naples 2025–2026 season pairs the world-class Miami City Ballet with the Naples Philharmonic in Hayes Hall. If Sunday's Yuja Wang concert is the week's musical centerpiece, Tuesday night is its dance companion — an equally rare pairing that brings together two of the region's finest performing arts institutions on the same stage.
🎭 Wednesday, May 6 — A New Show Opens Downtown
Naples Players KidzAct: "Footloose Jr." — Opening Night 📍 Sugden Community Theatre, 701 5th Avenue South, Naples 🕖 Evening performance | 🎟 Tickets at naplesplayers.org
The Naples Players' youth company opens its production of Footloose Jr. on Wednesday — high energy, great young performers, and one of the most beloved musicals ever written for the stage. A perfect mid-week family night in the heart of downtown Naples. Check naplesplayers.org for exact showtime and seat availability.
