The name Sienna Ray came from a family joke.

Janine’s oldest daughter’s middle name is Sienna. Another daughter — who runs their Estero location — goes by Ray-Ray. The sisters used to tease their middle sister that she should name her next child Sienna Ray after them.

There was just one problem: her next child was a boy. So the family stole the name for the salon instead.

Janine and her husband spent 9½ years as foster parents, eventually adopting six children from foster care. Along with their four biological children, they raised a family of 10. For nearly a decade, opening their home to children in need was a way of life.

The family continues supporting local foster children through annual July backpack drives and Christmas Angel Trees. But entering the salon business wasn’t part of a grand corporate plan — it started as a way to support their daughter.

When the salon where their daughter worked went up for sale, Janine and her husband stepped in to buy it as an investment. It secured their daughter's future as director and gave the family a place to build together.
