Travel just got easier for Southwest Florida residents — and more attractive for visitors — thanks to a wave of new nonstop flights out of Fort Myers.

According to a recent report, Delta Air Lines has launched a new daily nonstop route connecting Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) with Salt Lake City. The route officially began service on December 20, 2025, and will operate daily through May 6, 2026.

This marks the first-ever nonstop flight between Fort Myers and Salt Lake City — a meaningful expansion that opens a direct connection between Southwest Florida and the Mountain West.

Why This Route Matters

For local residents, the new route offers faster, more convenient access to destinations across Utah and the western U.S. For visitors, it creates a smoother path into Southwest Florida during peak season.

Salt Lake City also serves as a major hub for Delta, which means travelers flying out of RSW now gain easier one-stop connections to cities throughout the West Coast and Pacific Northwest.

For seasonal residents, second-home owners, and business travelers, fewer layovers mean less travel friction — a big win during the busy winter and spring months.

More New Routes Coming to RSW

The Delta expansion is part of a broader push to strengthen RSW’s nonstop network.

Recent and upcoming additions include:

  • Allegiant Air launching seasonal nonstop service to Allentown, Appleton, and Des Moines

  • American Airlines adding nonstop flights between Fort Myers and Phoenix during the holiday season

  • JetBlue planning to launch nonstop service from RSW to Buffalo beginning March 2026

Together, these routes expand Fort Myers’ reach into the Midwest, Northeast, and Western U.S., reinforcing RSW’s role as a growing regional airport.

As airlines continue to invest in RSW, travelers can expect more convenience, more choices, and shorter travel days ahead.
