Southwest Florida International Airport is having a remarkable year for new air service, and the fall schedule just got even stronger.
Delta Air Lines is adding a daily nonstop from RSW to Raleigh-Durham International Airport starting November 21, 2026, operated by a CRJ-900 regional jet. Southwest Airlines is also adding two new flights and bringing back six seasonal routes at the Fort Myers airport. That's on top of the seven new routes from Avelo, Breeze, and Allegiant that NNN reported earlier this summer.
Here's the complete picture of every new route landing at RSW this fall.
🛫 Delta Air Lines — New Raleigh-Durham Service
Daily flights between Southwest Florida International Airport and Raleigh-Durham International Airport start November 21, 2026, according to Delta's ticketing sales.
The route will operate daily from November 21 with a CRJ-900. Raleigh-Durham is a significant market, North Carolina's Research Triangle is one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country and a strong feeder market for Southwest Florida's seasonal and relocating population. Delta already holds a strong existing position at RSW with 187 weekly departures to 10 nonstop destinations.
The new Raleigh route arrives as Delta drops three New York JFK domestic routes, Memphis, St. Louis, and Houston Intercontinental, from its JFK operations in the same planning window. Those JFK cuts don't affect RSW service, but travelers who were routing to those cities through JFK will need to rebuild those search parameters.
🛫 Southwest Airlines — New and Returning Routes
Southwest is making its own significant moves at RSW, adding two completely new routes while restoring six seasonal routes that have been suspended.
Southwest has historically been one of RSW's most important carriers for connecting Southwest Florida to midsize American cities that larger hub carriers don't serve directly. The specific new routes and seasonal restoration dates were announced in the same reporting window as the Delta addition, check southwest.com for current booking availability on all new RSW routes.
🛫 The Rest of the Fall Aviation Picture at RSW
The Delta and Southwest announcements stack on top of what NNN reported earlier this summer:
Avelo Airlines added four new routes from RSW, including Charlotte/Concord, North Carolina, starting November 19; Dallas/McKinney, Texas, starting November 11; Tampa to Charlotte/Concord starting November 20; and Lakeland to Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, starting November 18.
Breeze Airways added RSW nonstop service to Dayton, Ohio, plus routes connecting RSW and Sarasota-Bradenton to New Jersey and Wisconsin markets.
Allegiant Air added PGD Punta Gorda service to La Crosse, Wisconsin, starting October 1, plus ongoing routes to New Orleans, Atlantic City, and Trenton, New Jersey.
🌴 Why This All Matters for Collier County
RSW set an all-time monthly passenger record in March 2026, when 1,521,149 passengers passed through the terminal, a 3.9% rise on March 2025. The airport handled more than 11.1 million passengers in 2025 and ranks among the top 50 U.S. airports for traffic.
For Naples and Collier County residents, RSW's expanding route map means more nonstop options, more competition keeping fares lower, and better connectivity to the Northeast and Midwest markets that drive seasonal migration, tourism, and business travel to this region.
The fall 2026 schedule is shaping up to be the most connected RSW has ever been. Combined with American Airlines' proposed December 2 launch of Naples Airport's first commercial service since 2017, Southwest Florida's aviation access is being reshaped from multiple directions simultaneously.
